Choosing Your StarterWhen coordinators begin their journey they leave with their attention on pokemon contests. They want to train their pokemons abilities to stand out in a crowd. Coordinators travel from one place to another in order to participate in pokemon contests. The odd coordinator may also choose to also go after pokemon gyms and collect badges to improve their skills as well.
Coordinators are a bit different when given their starter. The professors of each town have a specific list of pokemon which they'd be able to choose from. Like pokemon trainers, they can only choose from a specific number of pokeballs. When a coordinator enters a lab seeking their first pokemon, five pokeballs will be layed out in front of them. Like a game of chance, they must choose a pokeball without knowing what's inside. The pokemon inside will then become their pokemon. (The professor must inform them first, which pokemon are inside the five pokeballs.)
